MR. YUSUF TAKUMA has over 15 years experience in the construction industry and 10 years in the Oil and gas industry, 4 of which are in the Downstream and commercial aspect of the energy industry. His experience in the construction and housing industry began with Brightlet property services in Cardiff, United Kingdom. He held the position of public relations officer before moving on to a supervisory role in the construction part of the industry. It was after over a decade in the sector that he returned to Nigeria to co-found Cardinal Group and its subsidiaries including Palorosa Homes with a vision to reduce the housing deficit in Nigeria and provide his fellow citizens with an opportunity to acquire affordable housing with a focus on ensuring every home built met the highest standards available anywhere in the world.

MR. TAKUMA Oil and gas experience began in the regulatory and transparency part of the industry particularly NEITI (Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) which is a division of The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). This is the global standard to promote the open and accountable management of oil, gas and mineral resources. Guided by the belief that a country’s natural resources belong to its citizens, the EITI has established a global standard to promote the open and accountable management of oil, gas and mineral resources. In each of the 53 implementing countries, the EITI is supported by a coalition of government, companies, and civil society. His next experience in the industry was gained at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, where he developed an interest in the Downstream and energy trading sector of the industry. He has since gone into the private sector to leverage on the experience gained in the regulatory part of industry.

MR. TAKUMA holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Canterbury University in the UK and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
