Undertaking socially responsible initiatives is a win-win situation, and so we prioritize empowering our employees as we invest heavily in the training of our most valuable asset, our people. Various other initiatives are in place to promote wellbeing and work-life balance. We also invest in developing our communities, as well as caring for our customers through exceptional value-added service and solutions.

FITNESS TO WORK

Employees must be in a good state of mental, physical and emotional health to perform their assigned tasks competently, and in a manner that does not negatively affect or put at risk, their own, or others’ health and safety and cause damage to company equipment and property.

An employees’ fitness for work may be affected by a variety of factors including, but not limited to illness, injury, alcohol, substance abuse and emotional issues. We therefore prohibit any employee in such state to enter the workplace to operate machinery or vehicle or supervise others.

We therefore ensure that everyone who works with us takes full responsibility and is fit for work prior to commencement, and for the duration of their assignments.

We could conduct random alcohol, illegal substance and drug testing on our employees, subcontractors, consultants and visitors as the need arises.

Any very unlikely breach of the Fitness for Work Policy is treated as serious misconduct and those found not satisfying the criteria for fitness for work shall be dealt with accordingly including disciplinary action leading to termination of employment or legal action.

QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT (QHSE)

In order to ensure success in all the projects undertaken by our consortium, we set QHSE performance objectives, follow through to identify and eliminate quality nonconformance, and continually improve processes with the end goal of providing services that fulfill the highest quality applicable through the use of an effective management system.

A safe and healthy workplace is a business imperative and a fundamental right of every worker. We take responsibility for maintaining optimal health and safety in the work place for our workers and other persons affected by our business activities, by minimizing the risk of accidents, injury and exposure to health hazards.

We meticulously implement environmental expectations for office operations and project execution towards preventing environmental contamination. We also comply with all relevant laws and industry standards of practice with regard to environmental protection by not compromising our environment through pollution.

We communicate and make this policy available to employees, contractors, clients and partners, as well as our host communities, while specifically undertaking training and re-training of our employees and contractors on HSE.

LOCAL CONTENT

This policy ensures strict compliance with the March 2010 directive of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on local content, known as the Nigerian Local Content Act, which aims at improving the local economy and the social well-being of citizens engaged in the industries.

Our adoption of this Local Content policy has seen an increase in employment opportunities for the local workforce in line with the dictates of the Local Content Act. It has also encouraged localization of the supply chain of the industrial sector through our patronage of certain equipment, goods and materials from within the country. Our use of facilities and supply services rendered by Nigerians or companies incorporated in Nigeria is sustained.
